Creating & Editing Class Layouts

Knowledge Base

Step 1: Layout Info

Fill in the basics:

  • Location (required): which location this layout is for.
  • Layout Description (required): a clear name for staff, for example Main Room – Tread + Floor.
  • Start Date and End Date: only set these if the layout should apply during a specific date range.

Open the Advanced Settings only if you want this layout to apply to specific class names or room names. Type comma-separated keywords for:

  • Only for Class Keywords — apply only to classes whose name contains one of these words.
  • Exclude for Class Keywords — skip classes whose name contains one of these words.
  • Only for Room Keywords — apply only to rooms whose name contains one of these words.
  • Exclude for Room Keywords — skip rooms whose name contains one of these words.

Step 2: Layout Properties

Tell the editor the size of the room:

  • Rows (required): how many rows in the room.
  • Columns (required): how many columns.
  • Spots (required): the total number of bookable spots.

Click Generate to draw the empty grid and the unplaced spots palette.

Step 3: Legend

Type a label for each shape — Circle, Square, Diamond, and Hexagon — so customers know what each shape means in the app.

Step 4: Room Grid & Spots

The bottom section is the editor:

  • The Unplaced Spots palette holds spots that are not yet on the grid.
  • The Room Grid shows the empty cells you generated.

Drag a spot from the palette into a grid cell to place it. Click a placed spot to open its Spot Settings:

  • Spot ID: the unique number for the spot.
  • Spot Label: the text shown on the spot.
  • Shape: pick Circle, Square, Diamond, or Hexagon to match a legend category.

You can also mark a spot as hidden from public selection if it is reserved for the instructor or out of order.

Step 5: Save

The floating Save Layout bar at the bottom of the page is always visible. Click Save Layout to commit your changes. If you leave the page without saving, your changes are lost.
